Our chapter’s next meeting will be held Thursday, May 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Enterprise Mill Starch Room. Our guest speaker, Connie Melear, will be speaking on real estate taxes: how they are calculated and what exemptions exists.
Connie Melear is a distinguished leader in both the construction and financial sectors, currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at RW Allen Construction and as the District 1 Commissioner of Columbia County. As a testament to her expertise, she also contributes her insights on the board of directors for Pinnacle Bank. Connie is an alumna of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, where she earned her degree in accounting. Her term as District 1 Commissioner spans from 2023 to 2026, during which she plays a pivotal role on several key committees. She chairs both the Management and Internal Services Committee and the Audit Committee, while also serving as Vice Chair of the Development and Planning Services Committee.
Dedicated to furthering her knowledge and capabilities, Connie is actively pursuing completion of the County Commissioner Training Program, offered by the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) in collaboration with the University of Georgia (UGA). Her commitment to excellence and service continues to drive impactful developments within her community.
