CFO Todd Croom

odd Croom is Jackson Spalding’s CFO. He applies decades of financial and strategic planning experience to optimize our performance and growth. His multi-faceted background as a consultant, executive leader and entrepreneur gives him a unique skillset that aligns well with our customer-centric business. Since childhood, Todd has been a planner. Watching TV during his formative years, he observed strong characters playing business titans and imagined becoming a corporate leader. Around the age of 10, he started researching American cities and decided that Atlanta would be a great place to live to avoid harsh winters. In grad school, he met international students and vowed that someday he would travel extensively. All of those youthful dreams came true over time. Todd began his career at Deloitte & Touche in Cincinnati, but later joined the Southern Company where he checked off two life goals: a move to Atlanta and the chance to work internationally. As a result of his involvement in Southern’s leadership program, he managed the construction of a $500 million gas pipeline through South America. His time in Santiago, Chile gave him real-world practice honing conversational Spanish. He spent the next 17 years with Cox Enterprises, serving in a variety of leadership positions. He began as Manager of New Media Development and later rose through the ranks at Manheim, a Cox Automotive subsidiary, becoming Vice President of Finance Operations. Later he was tapped to create a marketing function for NextGear Capital, the $400 million financial services arm for Cox Automotive. He capped off his Cox career as Senior Director of Finance for Cox Automotive’s HR Operations. After years with large corporations, Todd relished the opportunity to help smaller companies positioned for success. Before joining JS, he consulted with several businesses and built infrastructure and strategy for a healthcare start-up. Todd grew up in Sandusky, Ohio and graduated from the University of Cincinnati where he studied Accounting and Finance. He went on to earn an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He and his wife, Jill, merged their families in 2018, moving to Decatur. Todd is a frequent runner near the Emory area and often jump-starts his day playing hoops with buddies. He’s also a devoted mentor to elementary students in Atlanta through his church and Big Brothers Big Sisters and serves as an Advisory Board member for the CFO Forum.
