Cohen S. Colvard, CPA

Mr. Colvard is a graduate of the Georgia State University School of Business. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in March of 1982 and a Masters in Taxation in March of 1984. In 1983, Mr. Colvard was voted "most likely to succeed in accounting" by the Georgia State Accounting Faculty and was the recipient of the Financial Executives Institute Scholarship Award for Accounting Excellence. Also during 1983, Mr. Colvard was president of Beta Alpa Psi, the schools accounting honor society. During that year, Mr. Colvard led the chapter to its first recognition as superior chapter in the schools history. Mr. Colvard was nominated to Omicron Delta Kappa Society, the honorary leadership society in 1984. Mr. Colvard began his accounting career with Atlanta office of Deloitte Haskins & Sells in 1982. In 1985, he went to Coopers and Lybrand in San Diego, California as a small business and international tax specialist. In 1987, he joined Turner Broadcasting System as Director of Federal and International Taxes. Mr. Colvard started his own accounting firm in 1991, specializing in sinai1 business tax and accounting services. He retained Turner Broadcasting System as his largest client. In 1992, Mr. Colvard co-authored a practice guide for earnings and profits calculations for the AICPA. In 1993, Mr. Colvard began teaching accounting on the Clarkston Campus of Geo,rgia Perimeter College on a part-time basis. Mr. Colvard created the college's first online accounting courses in 1999. Mr. Colvard is currently a member of the Georgia Society of CPA's, the American Institute of CPA's, and The Georgia Association of Accounting Educators.
