Michelle T. Shaw, CISA, CIA, PMP
Michelle Shaw serves as Senior Project Manager, Existing Industry and Regional Recruitment with the Global Commerce Division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, covering 18 counties in Region 11 (South Central Georgia). She recruits new investment and job creation by facilitating existing industry expansions and assisting in the location of new companies to the area. Working with GDEcD's trade department, she also identifies and develops export opportunities for Georgia industries. In addition, Michelle assists GDEcD and other statewide project managers with business locations and helps at-risk companies. Prior to joining the Georgia Department if Educational Development, Michelle served several years in human resource and operation management with Target Southeast Regional Distribution Center. She also has experience in operations management, marketing, public relations within the healthcare, advertising, and transportation industries. Michelle is a member of the Georgia Economic Developers' Association where she serves on the Rural Development Committee, was a graduae of the inaugural class of Leadership Tifton, and has served on the board of directors for several charitable and professional organizations within the local Tifton community. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Valdosta State University. She is a native of Tifton, where she resides with her husband, Russ, and her two children, Ashley and Spencer.
