Michael W. Thigpen
Michael (Mike) Thigpen has been a Financial Advisor with National Financial Services Group since 2004. He came to NFSG from Bohannon Holman, LLC where, as a financial advisor, he specialized in business and pension planning. Before venturing into the financial services field, Mike, who holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Finance from Georgia State University, was CFO and COO of Case Masters, a multinational information systems consulting firm.
From young families and professionals, to executives, business owners and retired couples, Mike’s thriving practice includes a wide variety of clients. His professional accomplishments include qualifying for both President’s Club and the elite Premier Producer Group in 2010.**
Mike utilizes an integrated and comprehensive approach to help clients maximize asset accumulation and tax efficiencies. He has always been keenly aware of the stress and emotional issues that surround the life changes, both planned and unplanned, that his clients face, and the impact they can have on their financial well-being. In 2009, he made the decision to pursue training in the area of Financial Transitions Management at the Sudden Money® Institute (suddenmoney.com). SMI Advisors are the country’s recognized experts in Financial Transitions Management. They are a select group of financial advisors who have met the high standards and training required to be part of a global network of thought leaders practicing a proven strategy to help individuals and families deal with the financial turbulence brought on by life-changing events.
Life events that trigger transitions include loss of a spouse or parent, divorce, retirement, inheritance, career change or even the sale of a business. Without a proven transition management process, rational thinking and good decision-making may be replaced with confusion, emotional turbulence and inconsistent behavior that can lead to regrettable decisions. Mike also believes that during such times a customized system of coordination among a client’s team of advisors, including CPAs, estate planning attorneys and others, optimizes utilization of professional advice, which can lead to a more successful experience for clients.
Mike is one of those rare "Atlanta natives" and the father of two beautiful daughters, Sarah and Lexi. He is currently living in Roswell.
