Marjorie A. Maguire-Krupp, CPA, MBA
Margie Maguire-Krupp is a Visiting Professor of Accounting at Savannah State University and President of Coastal Empire Consulting. Previously, she was Vice President, Risk Management, Governance and Audit for American International Group (AIG)'s global consumer banking group, having initially joined AIG's Corporate Audit group. Her previous experience includes positions in finance, accounting and operations at GE Capital Services (its investment banking/brokerage firm of Kidder, Peabody), Sumitomo Bank, Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), and Ernst & Young. Ms. Maguire-Krupp is a CPA, CIA and a Certified Financial Services Auditor. Ms. Maguire-Krupp has been active in the Institute of Internal Auditors for 20 years, and served as a trustee of the IIA's Research Foundation for six years, serving on its Strategic Planning Committee, being part of the oversight review team for the IIA's Common Body of Knowledge study in 2006 and 2010, and serving an advisor to its Committee of Research & Education Advisors Previously, she was a member of the IIA's International Committee on Quality. In Savannah, Margie is a Past President and member of the Board of the IIA's Coastal Georgia Chapter. She has been an invited guest speaker at numerous IIA international conferences and has also contributed to writings in various professional publications. Margie has served as a Trustee on the Franklin & Marshall College Alumni Board and currently is a member of the Fraud and Forensic Accounting Advisory Board at Georgia Southern's College of Business Administration. Locally, Margie is a member of the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Greater Savannah, is on the Advisory Board of SAFE Shelter and has tutored with the "LOVE" program. Margie earned a MBA degree in finance with distinction, at the New York University Stern School of Business, where she was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma. She received her undergraduate degree cum laude in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College, and was selected to the distinguished Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
