Dev Strischek

Martin "Dev" Strischek SVP and Senior Credit Policy Officer Corporate Risk Management SunTrust Bank As senior credit policy officer, Dev is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering credit policies for SunTrust's wholesale lines of business--commercial, middle market, leasing, capital markets, commercial real estate, corporate investment banking, private banking, and private client services. He also spent three years as credit administrator and managing director of credit risk management in SunTrust's Florida commercial lending and corporate investment banking areas, respectively. Prior to SunTrust, Dev was chief credit officer for Barnett Bank's Palm Beach market. Besides stints at other banks in Florida, Kansas City, and Ohio, Dev's experiences outside of banking include CFO of a Honolulu construction company, combat engineer officer in the U.S. Army, and college economics instructor in Hawaii, Missouri, and Florida. Dev has written a variety of articles on financial and credit analysis for the Risk Management Association's (RMA) Journal as well as other professional journals in the risk management and financial fields. He is the author of Analyzing Construction Contractors and instructor of the related contractor workshop. Dev has also spoken to conferences and seminars and taught at workshops and professional schools. His audiences have included RMA chapters, roundtables, and national conferences. He has also taught courses for the OCC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, and FFIEC regulatory communities on cash flow, commercial real estate, loan structuring, and problem loan management He has lectured to community groups for the SBA and for professional organizations including the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the AICPA on how to prepare successful loan packages, how to manage working capital and cash flow, how to manage personal and business credit, and how to improve financial statement reporting to lenders. Dev's current RMA activities include membership on the RMA Journal's editorial advisory board, its Accounting Convergence Task Force, and representing RMA on the AICPA's Blue Ribbon Panel addressing standards for private companies. Prior RMA roles include national RMA chair, national board member, and president of the Florida chapter. A graduate of Ohio State University and the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking, he earned his M.B.A. from the University of Hawaii.
