Raymond Carpenter

Raymond P. Carpenter engages in the general practice of law with emphasis on state and local taxation law and tax exempt organizations. Mr. Carpenter consults with large multistate corporations to limit the state tax impact of corporate decisions and activities. He has successfully litigated key issues involving the ad valorem taxation of leased equipment, the definition and valuation of computer software, and the taxation of promotional advertising materials. In addition, he negotiates with various governmental authorities to secure exemptions for purchases of manufacturing machinery and equipment, and to qualify for tax incentives and tax credits.
