Owen H. Malcolm, CFP, MBA
Owen H. Malcolm, CFP®, is Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the firm. A native of Ocala, Florida, Mr. Malcolm graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berry College with a BS degree in Finance and from Kennesaw State University with an MBA in Entrepreneurship. Prior to joining Sanders Financial Management, he was a Financial Analyst for IBM Global Financing, then a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones Investments, starting his own branch office in Marietta, Georgia. He is a Certified Financial Planner and NASD Series 65 licensed. Mr. Malcolm is the firm's Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Malcolm is a graduate of the 2007 class of Leadership Gwinnett, as well as the inaugural class of L.E.A.D. Atlanta, a leadership development program for emerging young professionals sponsored by Leadership Atlanta. He is an active member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and is also a member of the Berry College Planned Giving Council. Mr. Malcolm serves on the Board of Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett, a non-profit providing affordable, high-quality health services to the uninsured and working poor of Gwinnett and surrounding counties. He was also honored in 2005 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the Top 40 Under 40 "Up and Comers". He has been a valued resource for national and local media (TV, radio and print) and has appeared in numerous publications including The Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report, CNBC, CNN Radio, Smart Money Magazine, Financial Planning, Investment Advisor, Financial Advisor, Investment News, Dow Jones Newswires, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 11 Alive Atlanta, and Fox 5 Atlanta. Mr. Malcolm was featured in Investment Advisor's 2005 "New Faces of Planning" cover story, and writes regular financial planning columns for local publications. Mr. Malcolm has been interested in the financial markets since age 12, when he visited a financial planner with his parents and was intrigued by the planner's knowledge and dedication to helping clients. He is a devoted family man who enjoys spending time with his wife, Tina, and their four children at their home in Johns Creek. An avid photographer, he participates in sports and is an active member of the Old Peachtree Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an Elder and chairs the Capital Campaign Committee.
