Jonathan Burns, CFA
Jon Burns is an Assistant Vice President in the Community and Regional Bank Group within Supervision and Regulation (S&R) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He oversees supervisory teams responsible a portfolio of State Member Banks and Bank Holding Companies. Jon has more than 25 years of experience in S&R. His previous experience includes roles as a Senior Examiner, Director of Examinations over a portfolio of community banks, Director of the Capital Assessment Team, and Assistant Vice President in the Risk and Resiliency Group. He serves as the FRB System co-chair for the Shared National Credits Program and previously served on System Oversight Groups for the Horizontal Liquidity Review and Horizontal Capital Review in the Large Bank portfolio. He was the Atlanta District’s Risk Council co-chair. He also has experience in the LISCC supervisory program, as a leader of the Capital Planning Team and served as an instructor for the Examiner Commissioning Program and International Technical Assistance Program. Jon was recognized in 2009 for outstanding contributions to the supervision of highly complex and problem institutions with the William Taylor Award for excellence in bank supervision. He holds a degree in Math and Economics from Lafayette College, Easton, PA, and is a CFA charter holder.
