Leland Collins, CPA
Leland Collins has close to 10 years of experience in providing tax advisory and tax compliance services to a broad range of clients in the real estate, private equity, professional entertainment, mortgage servicing , low income housing, and telecommunications industries. Mr. Collins supports various stakeholders by providing tax due diligence, tax structuring, tax planning, real estate investment trust (“REIT”) qualification and maintenance, portfolio acquisitions/dispositions, and other general tax advisory services. Mr. Collins possesses a deep proficiency in the reporting and taxation of partnerships and corporations, including REITs, as well as expertise in inbound real estate structuring. Mr. Collins has a proven track record of advising on complex tax areas such as the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act of 1980 (“FIRPTA”), Chapter 3 withholding, unrelated business taxable income (“UBTI”), REIT organizations, REIT due diligence, and partnership allocations. Mr. Collins strives to develop the highest performing teams and understands the value of bringing a diverse set of experts to the table. Mr. Collins encourages a collaborative, practical, and creative approach to solving stakeholders’ most challenging tax problems. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Collins held positions at Ernst & Young’s (“EY”) Real Estate Tax practice and PricewaterhouseCoopers’ (“PwC”) Asset and Wealth Management Tax practice.
