Travis L. Patton, CPA
Travis is resident in Washington, D.C., where he monitors legislative and regulatory developments from Capitol Hill and the Internal Revenue Service. He advises clients on the impact of tax reform legislation, investments, IRS examinations, governance, compensation and benefits, unrelated business income tax, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, hospital community benefit and charity care, 501(r) compliance, international activities, Form 990, and other topics. A regular instructor, Travis most recently presented at conferences sponsored by the American Health Lawyers Association, Georgetown University Law Center, National Association of College and University Business Officers, Georgia Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the University of Texas Law's Higher Education Tax Institute. Travis has authored articles published in Thomson Reuters's Taxation of Exempts, HFMA's magazine Healthcare Financial Management, and the AICPA's Journal of Accountancy. Travis also serves as a Lead Diversity Partner Champion for his market, and diversity and inclusion has always been important part of Travis's personal and professional life. Travis is a Board member and Treasurer at Whitman Walker Health, a system of organizations that includes a Federally Qualified Health Center in Washington, DC. In academia, Travis is a member of The College of William and Mary Mason School of Business Accounting Program Board.
