Terri Theisen

Terri Theisen is the founder and principal consultant of Theisen Consulting LLC, a management consulting firm specializing in the needs of nonprofits of all types including community-based organizations, grantmaking foundations, membership associations, private and public schools and districts, and colleges and universities. Terri and her team support organizations throughout the country in developing strategy and implementing organizational solutions. Terri has more than thirty years' experience as a professional in the nonprofit sector, having served as a chief executive officer, chief operating officer, internal field operations officer, and regional vice president for local, regional, and national nonprofit organizations. Terri Theisen is a solution-focused expert in nonprofit governance and management, and a skilled facilitator with a commitment to surfacing ideas that assist organizations in achieving impact. Terri works with clients on strategic and operational plans, financial projections and capitalization, board effectiveness, board governance, executive search, executive coaching, change management, and facilitation of mergers and collaborations. Terri works with nonprofits of all types and sizes, including public health, health care, arts and culture, human services, and the environment. In addition, she works with for-profit corporations on development and implementation of civic engagement strategy. Her clients include the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, The Duke Endowment, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Atlanta Women's Foundation, North Fulton Community Charities, CHRIS Kids, Murphy Harpst Children's Centers, and Wesley Woods Senior Living. When not working, Terri can be found serving as a board member of local and national nonprofits. Currently, she is a board member of the National Women's Leadership Council for United Way of America and treasurer and member of the board of the National Psoriasis Foundation. She is a past board chair of Hands On Atlanta and the United Way's Women of Tocqueville Society, and a past board member of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and several other Atlanta-based nonprofits.
