Kristina Turner brings over 25 years of public sector auditing expertise to her role as Deputy State Auditor for Georgia. Since joining the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts in 1999, she has advanced through roles spanning financial audits, research and development, change management, and standards and methodology development. Appointed Deputy State Auditor in February 2019, Kristina leads efforts to build an organizational culture that values individuals, public service excellence, and innovation at the Department. Her leadership approach emphasizes both operational efficiency and professional development, creating an environment where audit quality and team growth thrive together. Kristina frequently presents at national, state, and local conferences, sharing her expertise on financial statement preparation, change management strategies, leadership development, and communication techniques—areas where her practical experience provides valuable insights to fellow practitioners. Kristina holds a Master's Degree in Management of Information Systems and maintains both Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certifications, reflecting her expertise in both traditional financial auditing and modern information systems oversight. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional development keeps her at the forefront of the evolving audit environment.
