Filing for Freedom Seeking Volunteers
Volunteer to help prepare taxes for military families and first responders. Filing for Freedom is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit program that brings the tax and legal communities together to provide free tax preparation services for military personnel and first responders at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta and Atlanta At-Promise Centers.
The Georgia Society of CPAs, tax sections of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association (Pro Bono Committee), Atlanta Bar Association and Federal Bar Association have joined forces to present this program, but its success depends on individual volunteers and corporate partners.

In 2026, Filing for Freedom plans to offer virtual and in-person events. Volunteers are required to complete online training certifications or orientation with the IRS VITA filing system. The level of training is dependent on the role each volunteer is serving.
