Member Monday: Kim Williams
Kim Williams graduated from Georgia Gwinnett College in December of 2021, where she majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
While in school, she took part in on-campus recruiting activities and job fairs. Most of her job search efforts took place through Handshake, which is a campus-linked job search site. She took advantage of any available opportunities as soon as she learned about them. After graduation, she took a position with Fricke & Associates, where they hired her as a Staff Accountant. When asked how she narrowed down her job search, she says she narrowed the search by considering the schedule flexibility, location, and potential opportunities with the company. Other important factors included the feel of office/staff as well as the job description.
After looking back at her experience of school, graduation, and then pursuing a job; she thinks current students should be taking advantage of all campus resources. She also says that they shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions, and her last piece of advice? If you can’t grow, don’t go!
