2021 GSCPA Educational Foundation Scholarship Recipients Announced

ATLANTA — The Educational Foundation of The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) recently announced its scholarship award recipients for the 2021-22 academic year. Scholarships ranging from $1,000-$5,000, for a total of $110,650, were awarded to approximately 70 accounting students from 11 different Georgia universities and colleges.

Students were selected based on their commitment to pursuing a career in accounting, academic performance and achievements. The Foundation awarded an additional $18,500 in scholarships through the Chapter Matching Funds Program, and GSCPA chapters granted Georgia universities and colleges with $2,500 in institutional support for a total of $131,650.

“The Educational Foundation is honored to award a multitude of students scholarships after a year of pandemic learning. It is our goal to encourage students on their path to becoming a CPA.” commented Clay Pilgrim, CPA, president of The Educational Foundation. Established in 1957, the Foundation helps students achieve their goals of becoming CPAs by identifying the best and brightest individuals entering the profession and providing those individuals with the help needed to complete their education.

"Being a part of the Scholarship Committee is a chance to give back to The Georgia Society through volunteering, while ensuring Georgia's accounting students are supported in becoming the future of the profession," shared Jack Milner, CPA, Scholarship Committee chair.

The Educational Foundation of GSCPA congratulates each winner. Individual scholarship winners have been notified via email.
