Mary Jo Alexander
Mauldin & Jenkins Mary Jo Alexander Mary Jo (MJ) has worked in Georgia in the area of taxation for over 25 years. Her area of expertise is nonprofit taxation, having worked with 100’s of nonprofit organizations. She is the firm-wide nonprofit technical tax expert and training leader in this area. MJ oversees the production of individual, nonprofit, for-profit and partnership tax returns. She also consults on nonprofit issues such as applications for exempt status, excess benefits, unrelated business income tax, political activities, status revocation and more. MJ began her career in the audit division of the Detroit office of Arthur Andersen, LLP. MJ graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University. She also spent five years teaching financial and cost accounting at Ohio University. MJ is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
