Donald S. Kohla

Don Kohla is one of the founding members of Taylor English's Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice group. Mr. Kohla's practice has focused primarily on employee benefit plan and executive compensation matters for more than three decades. He represents public and private employers in designing, preparing, implementing and administering all types of employee benefit plans and in addressing employer issues related to Obamacare as well as representing employers, compensation committees and executives regarding all types of executive compensation arrangements. He also represents clients who sell employee benefit plan related fiduciary and non-fiduciary products and services to employers, including insurance companies, brokerage firms, investment managers, actuarial and consulting firms and banks. Mr. Kohla handles employee benefit and executive compensation matters in connection with public and private company mergers and acquisitions and ERISA issues in connection with private equity fund formation and related activities. Finally, Mr. Kohla represents public and private employers in connection with disputes with employees, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Labor, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and multiemployer plans. Prior to joining Taylor English, Mr. Kohla was a partner at King & Spalding for more than three decades.
