George Heyman
George A. Heyman, CPA Oakton Community College/Des Plaines, Illinois Mr. George Heyman is Professor Emeritus of Accounting and Economics at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois. He has taught there for the past 27 years in the fields of accounting, auditing, and economics. As a member of the Illinois Society of CPAs George serves as chair of the Ethics Technical Standards Subcommittee. He is also a member of the planning committee for the Illinois Accounting Teachers' Conference held each October. While at Deloitte, Haskins, and Sells, George was an auditor. He worked as an internal auditor for the Brunswick Corporation and has experience both in the United States and overseas, working on audits of varying sizes for both domestic and international retail, distribution, manufacturing, and educational facilities. This included special projects and operational audits in a variety of industries. He received the 2003 Hartstein award for academic excellence and has been nominated for the Illinois CPA Society educator of the year award and the Illinois Community College Trustee Association 2004 Outstanding Faculty Award.
