GSCPA Annual Etiquette Dinner

More than 50 students and educators attended GSCPA’s annual Etiquette Dinner on Feb. 24, presented by Debra Lassiter, founder of Perfectly Polished. Students learned about topics ranging from proper table manners to polite dinner conversation as they enjoyed a five-course meal.

“I thought the entire event was awesome! Ms. Lassiter clearly has a lot of experience and knows what she is talking about. I feel much more equipped to handle an interview over dinner,” Hunter Early, a Kennesaw State University student and GSCPA student member, said.

The Etiquette Dinner not only strengthens accounting students’ professional and social skills, but also prepares students for what lies ahead on their journey to becoming a CPA.

“I love this particular event because it provides accounting students the opportunity to practice communicating effectively, being attentive to detail, and developing a sense of presence. Soft skills such as these are highly valued by employers, and it's never too early for students to start practicing them," GSPCA Chair Lowell Mooney, Ph.D., CPA, added.
