Gerald J. Rachelson, CPA
Gerald J. Rachelson is an Attorney and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He has earned his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia; a Masters of Public Administration and a Masters of Law from George Washington University; and a Masters of Law (Tax) from Georgetown University. He has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. He is a professional life and health insurance professional with an emphasis on Medicare Supplement and long term care insurance.
Mr. Rachelson is the chairman of the Georgia Society of CPA's Eldercare Subcommittee; has taught the Society's Eldercare course and has been a speaker on Eldercare at various Society functions. He has also taught graduate tax courses in Family Financial Planning and Corporate Tax at the graduate Business School program at American University; Tax Management for George Washington University and the College for Financial Planning for one of the Certified Financial Planner exam preparation courses; and is an instructor for Keller Graduate School.
Mr. Rachelson is a contributing author with well known authors Robert Esperti and Renno
Peterson in LEGACY, Plan, Protect and Preserve Your Estate. He has also had articles published in national publications. Mr. Rachelson has a special interest in planning to provide assets for the benefit of children with disabilities while protecting the child against loss of government benefits.
Mr. Rachelson is one of the Founders of the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, a nationwide association of over 1200 estate planning attorneys. He has testified on long term care insurance before the Georgia Commission on Long Term Care.
Mr. Rachelson is admitted to practice law in Georgia. He is certified as a CPA in Maryland and a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Rachelson was quoted in the lead article of the November 1999 issue of Financial Planning, a national publication for financial planners.
Mr. Rachelson is developing a Senior Protection CheckupSM to provide a comprehensive and objective analysis of a parent or client's legal, health and financial protection needs as they grow older.
