Eleanor Banister, Esq.

Eleanor Banister is a partner in King & Spalding's Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice. She advises clients on all aspects of the design, implementation and administration of employee benefit plans, executive compensation plans and the related funding vehicles. A significant part of her practice is devoted to counseling with and negotiating on behalf of clients in connection with business transactions, including initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings. Ms. Banister is a frequent lecturer on executive compensation and employee benefits topics and has held various leadership positions in professional benefits organizations. She is a past President of the Southern Employee Benefits Conference and served on the steering committee of that organization and as program committee chair. She is an active member of the Employee Benefits Committee of the Tax and Labor Sections of the American Bar Association, serving as past chair of the Employee Benefits Committee of the ABA Tax Section. She is a member of the Senior Editorial Board for Employee Benefits Law, a Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. treatise, and a member of the Editorial Board for The Practical Tax Lawyer. She served as chairman of the Gulf Coast Area TE/GE Council in 2003 and 2004. Ms. Banister is a Fellow and member of the Board of Governors of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. She was named Best Lawyer's "Lawyer of the Year" for Employee Benefits in 2011 (Atlanta). She has also been included in the Georgia Super Lawyers since 2004 and the Top 50 Female Georgia Super Lawyers for 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010. She has been included in The Best Lawyers In America since 2003.
