Robert E. Cameron CPA
ROBERT E. CAMERON, CPA Robert Cameron is the president of Cameron, Smith & Company, P.C. Rob graduated from Illinois State University in 1984 and worked for five years for Grant Thornton before returning to his roots in the Springfield area. Throughout the years, Rob has served a wide variety of cli-ents and has significant experience in both the public and private sectors. Rob first began performing peer reviews in 1991 and now performs approximately 70 reviews each year. In addition, Rob has served on the Society's Peer Review Report Acceptance Com-mittee since 1995 and is currently serving as chair of that committee. Rob is a strong supporter of the peer review program and believes that the peer review process has its greatest value when firms are able to share their insights into what is working best in today's business envi-ronment. Since Rob also enjoys instructing, he has developed and taught continuing education sessions in other areas such as assessing and controlling fraud risk and testing and reporting on internal controls. In addition, since Rob speaks to school classes from time to time, he has developed a presentation that is centered around operating a lemonade stand for use in demonstrating to schoolchildren of all ages what it is that accountants do. When not at work, Rob enjoys his role as husband and father of three boys. In addition, Rob regularly spends time serving as the treasurer for his local school district and volunteering for the local youth soccer program where he is involved with approximately 180 soccer games each year.
