W. Douglas Logan, CPA W. Douglas Logan, CPA, P.C./Athens, AL W. Douglas Logan, CPA, practices accounting in Athens, Alabama as the principal of a five-person firm. Originally from south Mississippi, Logan attended both Mississippi State University and the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a BS in accounting and an MA in English. He also attended Auburn University for two years of additional post-graduate study. Mr. Logan has taught for Calhoun Junior College and Athens State College. Logan has practiced accounting for small business and not for profit agencies for more than thirty years. He is a member of the AICPA, PCPS, and the Alabama Society of CPAs. Mr. Logan has been very active in the activities of the AICPA and ASCPA, serving on several committees that relate to the accounting and auditing profession (the Accounting Theory Subcommittee, the Grading Subcommittee, AICPA/NASBA Joint Coordinating Committee on Proposed Change in the Uniform CPA Exam, AICPA Practice Analysis Task Force, Peer Review Committee, Committee on Auditing Standards and Procedures, Continuing Professional Education Committee, Alabama Accounting Forum). In addition, Mr. Logan has served as an independent consultant in the field of financial accounting and reporting for the Board of Examiners of the AICPA. Mr. Logan has conducted many seminars and written a few monographs for various state societies and the AICPA.
