Colin E. Blalock, CPA, CGMA,PFS,CFP
Colin E. Blalock, CPA, CGMA, PFS, CFP, was admitted to the firm of Jones and Kolb as a shareholder in 1986. Prior to joining Jones and Kolb, he was with the Internal Revenue Service in Atlanta and later became a partner with a regional CPA firm. Since 1971, Colin's practice has focused on closely held businesses, entrepreneurs, professional service entities, and representation before the IRS in tax controversies. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Georgia State University. He is a Georgia CPA. Colin received the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the College for Financial Planning. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), The Georgia Society of Association Executives, the Financial Planning Association and the Atlanta Alumni of Revenue Agents. Colin is a Past Chair of the Georgia Society of CPAs. He is a past President and current Trustee of Georgia Federal Tax Conference. Colin is a member and past Chair of the Gulf Coast Tax Exempt/Governmental Entities IRS Advisory Council. He is an active member of the GSCPA serving on various task forces including the Taxation Forum Conference, the Nonprofit Conference, and the Southeast Accounting Show. Colin is a prolific speaker on tax topics and facilitates several discussion groups. He received the "Distinguished Service Award" from the GSCPA Continuing Education Committee. He is currently Chair of the Finance Committee of his church and on the Board of Directors at the Fowler YMCA in Peachtree Corners, GA.
