The Georgia Society of CPAs Hosts Annual Decision Makers Conference

The Georgia Society of CPAs will host its annual Decision Makers Conference on Wednesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the GSCPA Learning Center in Atlanta. Attendees will experience a range of 17 speakers across both days to discuss multiple topics that corporate finance professionals face.

The conference program will feature personal development sessions, a panel discussion, and breakout sessions on a range of topics, including behavioral ethics, income tax updates for private companies, cryptocurrencies, SECA taxes, and mega-trends.

“This is a conference I always try to attend; although it covers various industries, I always learn something I can benefit from and share with my colleagues and staff. I also like that it’s local and affordable”, said registered attendee Nidia Farnum.

The CFO panel session will take place on Wednesday afternoon, covering the hot topics impacting their business and driving decisions.

When asked what session he was looking forward to, attendee Matt Clark stated, “I am really looking forward to the CFO panel. I am very interested in what they say about managing the current banking environment, their forecasts of business conditions for the rest of the year and what advice they have to give aspiring CFOs to reach the C-suite.”

Among the highlights of the conference will be a session from Bob Mims from the Knowledge Institute in Memphis, Tennessee, who will share what exactly cryptocurrency and blockchain are. He will discuss the broad view of the technologies, what they do, and how they impact our work and lives.

“The world of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and NFT can be daunting and may appear as intimidating as a foreign language.  This course unpacks these topics from a big picture top-down approach by walking through the history of how currency has evolved to build a base framework to understand the technology and the currency itself better.” – said Bob Mims.
