Member Monday: Cristy Walden
Meet your fellow member, Cristy Walden, for this week’s Member Monday!
Cristy and her husband have been married for 8 years and have a 4-year-old daughter. They like to do Lego sets together and watch movies. Some of Cristy’s hobbies include watching sports everything from football and baseball to gymnastics. Her and her family are also football season ticket holders at her alma mater Georgia Tech. Cristy is a big Disney fan and she loves the color purple. Cristy and her family are members at Church of the Apostles and she teaches the Kindergarten Bible class.
When asked why she chose the accounting profession, Cristy responded, “My parents were both accountants and I promised myself I would never be one as we had many dinnertime conversations about GAAP and accounting; however, when I took my first accounting class at Georgia Tech, I realized I loved the industry.”
Cristy has been a member with GSCPA for twelve years and has served on the B&I Advisory Council and the A&A Advisory Council. Thank you so much for your service to GSCPA, we cannot wait to see where the profession takes you!
