A Conference is More Than Just Sessions

Year after year, Georgia CPAs continue to look to the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) as a trusted source of high-quality Continuing Professional Education. But GSPCA conferences are more than just in-person events covering the most important topics taught by leaders in the CPA and business community. Sometimes, if not most times, the true value of a conference can be found in what happens outside of the sessions.

VALUE

At a conference with multiple sessions and various speakers, participation is an investment, not a cost. The value is measured in the increased knowledge, enriched and expanded contacts and renewed energy and motivation that each attendee carries away from the conference. While the knowledge gained from the actual agenda can be an invaluable means to gather information and act as a catalyst for further discussions, sessions are also a great way to meet presenters and attendees. These contacts can provide access to a wealth of ideas.

“My partner, Chip Beal, and I have attended the Estate Planning Conference for years. We enjoy the beautiful resort location full of fun and fellowship with other like-minded professionals while gaining the benefit of renowned speakers. I truly value the opportunity to exchange ideas and achieve new planning awareness in the estate and trust area.” James S. Rivers III, CPA, CFP®

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

GSCPA Conferences are an investment in business and professional development. The best growth experiences come from the networking and exchange of information that occurs among attendees between sessions in the hallways, exhibit hall, social functions, airports, and numerous other occasions. The development that comes with attending a conference doesn’t end at the close of the event. Rather, the returns continue long after the in-person event has ended.

SAVINGS

While other CPE options do exist, only GSCPA members can save up to $100 off over 400 highly-rated programs each year, including 18 in-person conferences that cover the topics that Georgia CPAs want and need to hear.

“For several years in the early 2000’s I attended a different conference that took place in various locations around the country. While it was an information-packed three days, for the cost of the travel plus registration fees, it did not generally speak to the needs of my practice. I decided to attend the Georgia Society’s conference in 2005 and have been attending annually since then. The practical subject matter presented has been outstanding, timely and applicable. The emphasis on Georgia law is very helpful in my practice as an Attorney/CPA. The ability to attend locally at a first class facility along with friendly and outgoing attendees makes the social aspects something my wife and I look forward to enjoying each summer.” Douglas J. McAlpine
