Gary is the president and founder of Banyan Capital Management and is a 1973 graduate of the business school at The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He has continuously served as an investment professional since 1982. Prior to founding Banyan, Gary worked for six years as an account executive with a major New York Stock Exchange member firm. Gary conducts an investment workshop for the Georgia Society of CPAs. Gary has been active with Big Brothers Big Sisters for nearly all of his adult life. He began in 1975 as a Big Brother to a young man who had lost his father. Gary’s relationship to that individual continues today. He has served on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. Gary makes his home in Sandy Springs, Georgia. When he’s not poring over annual reports and other research, Gary can usually be found fishing one of his favorite trout streams or reading a history book.
