Shawn Davis

Professor Davis has corporate experience as a financial accounting analyst, internal auditor and information systems auditing and assurance Project Manager. Her research investigates the effects of audit judgment and decision-making on investors' perceptions and market behavior. Her principal research method is experimental economics, 'a fast-growing science that tests economic and psychological theories in a laboratory'. She has received research grants from the Canadian Academic Accounting Association and KPMG. Professor Davis taught auditing at Washington University, St. Louis and teaches courses in Auditing and Assurance Services and Accounting Information Systems at Georgia State University. She won the 2005 Outstanding Auditing Dissertation Award from the American Accounting Association. Professor Davis is a member of the American Accounting Association, American Institute of CPAs, Board of Directors Network, Inc., Canadian Academic Accounting Association, and Georgia Society of CPAs.
