Philip L. Hinson

A native of Columbia, SC, Mr. Hinson has resided in the Atlanta area for the past thirty years. He holds a Bachelor of Sciences and a Masters degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina, as well as a CPA certificate from the state of Georgia. After gaining public accounting experience with PwC, he has spent the majority of his career in financial management positions , primarily with early growth stage technology companies. His positions include controller, VP - Finance, and CFO. Phil formerly hosted "Phil Hinson's ax Reform Hour," which was broadcast from Radio Sandy Springs in Atlanta, GA. He has interviewed economists, authors, and a variety of activists in the field of tax reform, members of congress, and of course FairTax grassroots leaders. Phil has been a volunteer with Americans for Fair Taxation for ten years and during that time he has written and spoken on the proposal, as well as being actively involved in the campaigns of political candidates who have made the FairTax part of their platforms. He currently serves as volunteer regional director for Americans for Fair Taxation/fairtax.org and was designated as national volunteer of the year for 2002. As a spokesperson for FairTax.org Phil can address a variety of subjects but specializes in international trade issues.
