Anson Asbury, J.D., LL.M.

Anson H. Asbury is the founder and principal of Asbury Law Firm, Tax Counsel. Anson has represented clients in federal and state tax controversies, tax litigation, business tax planning and corporate organization for over 20 years. He has successfully defended over $500 million of federal income tax adjustments for his clients, ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. He has specific experience defending conservation easement donations in all stages of tax controversy. Anson represents clients across the country in numerous docketed cases in the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and U.S. District Courts. The substantive issues he handles include conservation easement donations, captive insurance companies, passport revocation, listed transactions, passive losses, net operating losses, business expenses, alimony deductions, and foreign tax credits. He also represents clients facing the IRS penalties, including fraud penalties, promoter penalties and preparer penalties.
