Blackie Scott

Blackie is a popular humorist, speaker, entertainment consultant and author. She has been described as "a cross between Aunt Harriet, who would have it proper, and Auntie Mame, who would have it fun." Blackie began her career as an entertainment consultant for a large import house of fine china, crystal and limited edition porcelains. In this role she spoke for department stores and galleries nationally. She has entertained, educated and motivated audiences for over twenty years on numerous subjects. Her presentations and after dinner speeches on corporate etiquette (domestic and international); entertaining in the home; retirement; and workplace relationships have delighted audiences throughout the United States. Corporation boardroom conference centers, civic gatherings, and schools have all been sites for Blackie as she weaves hilarious true-life stories with practical information. The humorous and pragmatic approach of this Virginia born and raised speaker is equally appealing to men and women of all ages. Her presentations keep 'em laughing, keep `em thinking, and bring new perspectives to meaningful topics and contemporary problems. Blackie's books include It's Fun to Entertain, Retire and Rejoice, It's Fun at Grandmother's House, and Get Your Funny Bone off the Table! (Business Etiquette.) Corporate clients have included CNN, Coca-Cola, Associated General Contractors of America, and BellSouth, to list a few. Numerous national and state professional associations have used Blackie as their featured speaker, and she has been a long time presenter at colleges and universities. She is a member of the National Speakers Association, Georgia Speakers Association, and the Georgia Society of Association Executives. Blackie believes that any statement about her achievements and qualifications cannot be considered complete unless she also mentions the fact that she is a wife, mother, and devoted grandmother. But most of all, Blackie believes in the appeal of humor. She says that people listen and learn best with their mouths open...laughing!
