Gregory S. Kordecki, CPA, CGMA,MPA,MD

Gregory S. Kordecki (Greg) is tenured Associate Professor of Accountancy and Coordinator of Accounting, Taxation, and Business Law at Clayton State University, Morrow, Georgia, and Technical Review Partner for Kirschner & Associates P.C., a Marietta, Georgia CPA firm. He holds the Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University and two Masters degrees from Georgia State University - Professional Accountancy and Decision Sciences. He is a CPA with a live permit to practice in the State of Georgia. In addition to his public accounting and university teaching experience, Mr. Kordecki has worked in government and private industry. He consults regularly with practitioners on accounting and auditing matters. His industry specialties are construction contractor accounting and healthcare financial management. His current research interests include financial statement quality control, practice management, and professional development activities for public accounting firms, as well as student thinking and learning styles. His further involvement in governmental and non-profit accounting ranges from field work in public accounting as staff auditor to technical consultant for peer reviews. Mr. Kordecki has authored, co-authored, and presented papers at regional and national conferences. He has also presented programs for the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, The Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Georgia Society of CPAs, the Georgia Association of Public Accountants, the Georgia Association of Accounting Educators, the American Accounting Association, Operations Research Management Science (ORMS), and the Decision Sciences Institute. He regularly develops and presents in-house CPE seminars for CPA firms, and is recognized by practitioners for expertise in financial statement quality control and technical reviews over financial reporting and disclosure. A recipient of several significant academic and professional awards, Mr. Kordecki has been recognized as the School's 2001 teaching professor of the year, the 2006 outstanding service award professor, and the 2007 recipient of the faculty fellowship in accounting. He has published in international journals and has served on executive and standing committees for the Georgia Society of CPAs.
