Jonna Shelton, CPA, offers over thirty years of accounting and audit experience. She has expertise in several industries including not-for-profit organizations, the healthcare industry, employee benefit plans, and educational institutions. Jonna began her career at Mauldin & Jenkins specializing in audits for clients in the banking industry. She then spent ten years in the private sector working in finance with a real estate investment company, in corporate accounting at The Coca-Cola Company, then at The Home Depot in a variety of roles that included accounting systems quality assurance and project management, Six Sigma Black Belt process improvement project leader, and Marketing Finance Manager. Since returning to Mauldin & Jenkins in 2006, she has focused on annual reporting and financial statement audits, Uniform Guidance (UG) single audits, Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, and student financial aid UG single audits. Jonna graduated summa cum laude from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Her professional affiliations include membership in esteemed accounting organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA). She also stays active in the community by volunteering as Treasurer for the local high school cross country booster club as well as volunteering time at other school, church, and charitable activities.
