Don Looney

Don W. Looney, CPA Individual Practitioner/Tulsa, Oklahoma Don Looney has over 25 years supervisory experience in all phases of finance and accounting for the oil and gas industry. He is currently working with a law firm helping with litigation concerning gas processing at three gas plants in Alabama. He has served as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Houston and is currently an Adjunct Professor for Tulsa Community College and Rogers State University teaching courses in oil and gas accounting, managerial accounting and economics. In his more than 20 years experience with Amerada Hess Corporation he held numerous positions including Manager Revenue Accounting, Manager Gas Revenue Accounting, Manager General Accounting and Financial Statements, Manager Data Processing, and Manager Budgeting. He was responsible for supervising and training a department of over 75 people and recording all gas, gas plant and oil revenue as well as reconciliation and payment of all royalties and the calculation and reporting of lease and well level oil and gas production. Don has been an instructor for Professional Development Institute and now the AICPA in various courses including oil and gas accounting, accounting, planning, and budgeting. He has excellent communication, supervisory, and analytical skills. Don is a registered CPA in both Oklahoma and Texas. He is a member of the AICPA, the Board of Examiners for the Accredited Petroleum Accountants Examination, and is active in COPAS.
