Julie A. Coppinger, CPA, CITP

Julie Coppinger, a Certified Public Accountant, has over 14 years of experience in the technology, manufacturing, mineral exploration, and beverage industries. After completing her BBA from the JM Tull School of Accounting at the University of Georgia, she went to work for Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc. Before founding Accounting and Financial Information, Inc., she worked at IBM, Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., and Oil-Dri Corporation. For over ten years, Julie has pursued learning and development in the area of information management. The achievements of Julie's career are due primarily to her strength in understanding the internal complexities of businesses. In addition to her executive status, she has worked in a variety of technical environments ranging from mainframes to desktops, from the Internet to Intranets, and from WAN's to LAN's. She is a superuser in many applications such as DDA, Infinium (formerly Software 2000), FRx Reporting, SurPass, Monarch, Topline, Lotus Notes, QuickBooks, MSA, SAP R/3 (MM), dBase, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office. Last year, she presented three Microsoft Access workshops at the 2001 ACT Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Specifically, Julie's work experience involved the design and implementation of a corporate capital tracking system, the consolidation of multiple currency financials for over 1400 locations, the automation of rebate purchases for over 25 production facilities, and maintenance of inventory materials for over 900 location. Julie has developed a variety of decision-making and analytical tools: v Personal usage of company aircraft for a large corporation v Lab results for quality control in a mining company v File tracking system for a tax department v Professional and legal fee tracking system from invoice to authorization, payment, and reconciliation v Verification and reconciliation between multiple applications and platforms She has created a "modified" system design life cycle tool called dbCreator for today's Microsoft Access users and assisted with the implementation of Infinium and SAP R/3 at both location and consolidated levels. Her specialty is streamlining information with both "off the shelf" and custom designed tools in order to improve workflow and efficiency. Julie is a member of the AICPA and Information Technology Division. She is the Vice President of the Gwinnett Chapter of Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountant and serves on the Information Technology Committee. As a member of Toastmasters International since 1987, Julie has held a variety of officer positions and given over a hundred presentations. She is married to Sean Coppinger who works for Delta Airlines, Inc. and has a three-year-old daughter named Carolyn.
