Chester Cook
Chester Cook joined DOR in 2005, and currently serves as Director of the Audits Division and senior leader responsible for all operational, management, financial, budget, and strategic planning activities for the Audits Division of the Georgia Department of Revenue. This includes leadership over multidisciplinary audit groups that include tax compliance for IFTA/IRP, motor fuel tax, individual income tax, corporate income tax, sales and use tax and a number of other miscellaneous taxes administered by GDOR. The division includes over 140 professionals located both within the State of Georgia and across the country. Other positions within GDOR that he has held include Assistant Director – Audits, Program Manager – Audits, Audit Manager and Audit Supervisor within the Audits Division. He has also served as a Tax Policy Analyst within Legal Affairs and Tax Policy. Prior to joining DOR, he held various roles with PwC, the Fulton County Board of Tax Assessors, and also worked in corporate banking. He is a graduate of Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business where he received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Taxation.
