Vann Cunningham
Vann Cunningham M.S.P., Urban & Regional Planning, University of Tennessee Knoxville B.A., Sociology & Anthropology, University of Tennessee Chattanooga Mr. Cunningham has 30 years of domestic and international experience in planning, development, management, and technical consulting for numerous projects in the public and private sectors. His career experience includes providing technical consulting assistance to more than 300 clients at all levels of the private, public, and voluntary sectors in both domestic and international arenas. He directed teams of international development consultants in Sudan, India, and Cayman Islands in the areas of regional development, national economic diversification, and industrial policy. As Practice Principal for Location Analysis consulting at Lockwood Greene, Mr. Cunningham directs economic development and corporate facility location studies. Lockwood Greene is a global engineering, design and consulting firm involved in the design and construction of over $10 billion of new investment each year worldwide. He has assisted dozens of firms in evaluating potential locations for new facilities, financial and other incentives, and packaging public and private financing for industrial development projects throughout the US and several offshore locations. Prior to Lockwood Greene, he provided business management, planning, and financial packaging assistance to more than 50 business startups or expansions, primarily in manufacturing industries. At the Tennessee Valley Authority, Mr. Cunningham served as Senior Industrial Representative coordinating technical assistance to more than 80 new industries per year, with an average annual investment in excess of $200 million and up to 20,000 new jobs. Devised marketing strategies based on the needs of industries, coordinated TVA response to industrial prospects, and directed preparation of marketing and research materials for industrial prospects, consultants, and public and private industrial development organizations. Conducted site location studies for major industrial projects. As TVA Chief of Regional Planning, Mr. Cunningham was responsible for numerous economic, community and resource development, industrial and power plant site location, and socio-economic impact studies, including regional and area-specific development plans, industrial park plans, site selection studies, growth management strategies, and land use plans. He contributed to national policy in the areas of urban and rural development, growth management, energy, and economic development.
