M. Thomas Mayfield Vice President of Corporate Finance for IDI As vice president of corporate finance and assistant secretary for IDI, one of the nation's leading industrial real estate developers, Tom is responsible for the company's overall financial plan. In this role, Tom coordinates the activities of the finance team and manages bank relations, loan origination and treasury services. Based in Atlanta, IDI was founded in 1989, ending its first year with $89 million in assets. Currently, company assets are more than $568 million, with another $443 million in joint-venture assets. Revenues for 2001, year-end, were more than $220 million. To his various responsibilities at IDI, Tom brings nearly 14 years of experience in real estate accounting and financial analysis. Since 1999, Tom has coordinated the origination of more than $1 billion in construction financing. He also has been responsible for implementing specialized financial solutions using revolving credit lines, interest rate swaps, synthetic leases and tax-exempt bond financing. In addition to his duties in Finance, Tom has managed a major re-engineering project and the implementation of budgeting and forecasting software applications for IDI. In this capacity, Tom was responsible for needs assessment, fit analysis, software testing, implementation and staff training. Prior to joining IDI in 1996, Tom was a manager in the Real Estate Services Group of Arthur Andersen. In his eight years with Andersen, Tom specialized in valuation and consulting for financial institutions, developers and private investors. Tom also was involved in several process-improvement projects, and was an instructor for firm-wide schools for new staff training and real estate due-diligence programs. Tom is a graduate of Bob Jones University with a B.S. degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and currently serves as the chairman of the Real Estate Section of the Georgia Society of CPAs. He is active in several charitable and civic organizations. IDI develops institutional-quality industrial buildings nationally, with projects,to date, in 28 states and Mexico. Since 1989, IDI has developed more than 78 million square feet of industrial space worth nearly $3 billion. In addition to its Atlanta headquarters, the company operates three regional offices and four district offices.
