In 1989, elected to the membership of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). In 1993, Richard Bowers was elected President of The Commercial Network (TCN), a worldwide network of strong, locally owned, independent brokerage firms in major metropolitan centers comprising over 140 member firms and over 2,500 professionals. In 1994, Richard Bowers was re-elected to his second term as President of TCN. 2000 Recipient of the Lifetime Excaliber Award from the American Cancer Society. In 2001, endowed the Georgia State University Richard Bowers & Co. Real Estate Professorship. In 2002, Richard Bowers received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Georgia State University Member of the United Way's Alexis de Tocqueville Society of Metropolitan Atlanta. Serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Tennis Foundation, Inc., and The Commercial Network (TCN). Richard also serves on the Board for the Georgia State University Foundation and was a past Board of Director for The Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. Completed over 1,250 requirements throughout Metro Atlanta, in excess of 12 million square feet of space either leased or sold.
