J. Stephen Clifford is a sole practitioner, specializing in the area of domestic relations/family law cases and has been for the past thirty years. His practice is located on Piedmont Road in Buckhead at the offices of Ellis, Funk, Goldberg, Labovitz & Dokson. Mr. Clifford graduated from Emory University School of Law in 1972. He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Bar Association and American Bar Association. He has held all offices in the Atlanta Bar Association Family Law Section including Chairman of Continuing Legal Education for approximately ten years. In addition, he is a Master with the Charles Longstreet Weltner American Inn of Court and has been since its inception. Mr. Clifford has lectured extensively to the Atlanta Bar Family Law Section, Litigation Section, Small Firm/Sole Practitioner Section, The Georgia Society of CPA's, as well as various continuing education seminars through the State Bar of Georgia and the American Inns of Court. Mr. Clifford's practice has required him to participate in thousands of trials, over one hundred and fifty by jury, and he has taken part in numerous appeals to the appellate courts, many of which have shaped the development of domestic relations laws in this state. He has been active with the legislature in both sitting on the Governor's Commission for Child Support Guidelines and testifying before various senate committees on domestic relations issues.
