Jan Ballard

Jan has two decades of experience doing business development, collaborative leadership development and facilitating strategic decision-making processes for companies, communities and not-for-profits. His passion is creating working and learning planning summits where everyone can contribute their wisdom and talents by building shared language, images, and 'living business plans', creating practical unanimity among and between different specialties and disciplines. His endeavors in this passion have included over twenty years as the founding director of The Commons: an Institute of the Whole. Founded in 1979, the website is www.commons.org; it is an institute of the whole focused on researching and solving the challenges of building sustained, high-performance collaborative cultures, using a whole systems/design science approach, integrated with business, emotional, procedural, and ethical literacy's. Jan (yon) Ballard is a principal of Financial Dashboards, a software integrator using collaborative metrics to create at-a-glance economic status reporting tools.
