Lisa Brown, CFP, CIMA
Lisa is a Shareholder and Wealth Advisor at Brightworth, where she works with a select number of high net worth families in the areas of investment management, executive compensation, retirement transition and estate planning. She began her wealth management career in 1999 developing personal financial strategies for top level executives of Fortune 500 companies. Lisa joined Brightworth in 2005 as the Manager of Financial Planning and was promoted to Wealth Advisor in 2009. Lisa is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, an Accredited Estate Planner, and has completed the Investment Management Consultants Association's Investment Analyst Program at the University of California Berkeley Haas School of Business, earning the designation of Certified Investment Management AnalystSM. Lisa received her Masters in Business Administration with a personal financial planning concentration from Georgia State University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. with a bachelor's degree in finance and economics. Lisa is a member of the fee-only National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, and is a founding member and past vice president of Georgia State University's Financial Planning Alumni Club. The Atlanta Business Chronicle's Wealth Management Edition featured Lisa in an article entitled "Young Manager Shines Light on 'Dark Corners.'" She has been published in the nationally recognized Journal of Retirement Planning, Financial Advisor Magazine online publication, Investment News online publication, Womenetics online publication, NAPFA's Planning Perspectives, and has also been highlighted in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Lisa frequently lectures on a variety of wealth management topics to Fortune 500 executives, attorneys and other financial industry groups. Her previous speaking engagements include The Investment Management Consultants Association Wealth Management Conference, The Georgia Society of CPA's Annual Estate Planning Conference, Basic Fiduciary Practice seminars, 57th Annual Employee Benefits Conference, Financial Planning Association of Georgia's Regional Conference, Columbus Georgia Estate Planning Council, the NAPFA Southeastern Regional Conference and Brightworth's Executive Women luncheon series. She has also taught retirement and investment planning courses at Emory University's Center for Lifelong Learning and Georgia State University, and has spoken to undergraduate financial planning students at The University of Georgia. She is a member of the Our House Finance Committee and recently served on the Board of Genesis Shelter which both help homeless children and their families to grow and develop in nurturing, healthy surroundings. She is also a member of the Philanthropic Advisors Leadership Institute, a collaboration among top financial, tax and legal professionals in Atlanta to more effectively assist clients in fulfilling their philanthropic goals. Lisa and her husband, Jason, enjoy spending time with their three children (6 year old boy/girl twins and 3 year old girl). A native of upstate New York, Lisa enjoys running and competing in half and full marathons. She also likes spending hours in her kitchen when she can, cooking new dishes.
