William F. Messier Jr

William F. Messier, Jr. is the Deloitte & Touche Professor at the School of Accountancy, Georgia State University, and currently serves as the Interim Director of the School of Accountancy. He is also a Professor II at the Institute for Accounting & Auditing, Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration and a visiting professor at SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy. Professor Messier holds a B.B.A. from Siena College, an M.S. from Clarkson University, and an M.B.A. and D.B.A. from Indiana University. He is a CPA in Florida. Professor Messier currently serves on the AICPA's Auditing Standards Board and International Auditing Standards Subcommittee. He was formerly Chairperson of the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association. Professor Messier is also Editor of Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory. Professor Messier is the author of Auditing and Assurance Services: An Integrated Approach, third edition and he has published over 50 articles in accounting, decision science, and computer science journals.
