Become a Speaker

In an effort to attract young people to the accounting profession, the Georgia Society of CPAs has launched a statewide Accounting Career Awareness Campaign for members to make presentations to high school students. Educating students about the accounting profession is at the cornerstone of the Georgia Society of CPAs’ Academic and Career Development initiatives and there are many opportunities to educate and encourage young people.

The GSCPA wants to inform students of the many career opportunities that exist when pursuing the accounting profession. By sharing your knowledge and insight, students will receive a positive outlook into the accounting profession. In addition, most high schools do not include accounting principals as part of their college track. For this reason, your contact with the students would be their first glimpse into the world of accounting. There are many factors steering students away from the accounting profession and members are knowledgeable professionals that can redirect students.

By participating in this program, you will provide a valuable resource to yourself and the schools in your area.

It is extremely important that CPAs help educate students and their communities about the accounting profession. We would like to support our members as they encourage students to excel. Thus, if you choose to volutneer as a speaker, the Georgia Society of CPAs office has materials that will help you with classroom presentations.
