Career Guide

These printed career guides provide valuable information for high school students. Each career guide contains information about careers in the accounting profession, salaries, the CPA exam, and what employers are looking for in their CPAs. Additionally, the guides discuss programs offered by the Georgia Society of CPAs specifically geared towards high school students with an interest in the accounting profession.

Taking Care of Business

Takin' Care of Business" offers young people a glimpse of the many opportunities available to them through accounting. It features five young CPAs in exciting career paths ranging from the FBI to a professional sports team. The video combines animation with real-life profiles and uses a career day discussion to highlight the CPA profession. 15 minutes in length.

Educator's Handbook

This handbook, developed by the American Institute of CPAs, contains 15 lesson plans, complete with lesson objectives and procedures, topic overviews, student learning activities and solution sets. Each lesson plan and student learning activity is based on standards set forth by the National Business Education Association (NBEA) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).

The Georgia Society of CPAs "Extreme CPA" posters are available through the society office. Additional posters are available upon request.

Student Membership Applications

Membership in a professional organization is important. Student membership with the GSCPA is a one time fee of $25. This enables students to take advantage of numerous networking opportunities, a discount on the Becker Review Course, and keeps students up-to-date with changes in the accounting profession. Don't forget to contact the society office for student membership applications to distribute to your college classrooms.
