GSCPA High School Residency Program

WHAT?

The High School Residency Program provides an introduction and overview of the many opportunities available in the world of accounting.

Presentations from representatives of national and local accounting firms, industry (Coca-Cola , Georgia Pacific), and government (FBI, SEC) help show the exciting and different types of job opportunities available in accounting. Students get a hands-on experience through accounting case studies and computer classes.

WHEN?

Georgia Southern University    June 2009

University of Georgia              July 2009

WHERE?

The High School Residency Program is hosted in two locations: one at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA and the other at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.

WHO?

Rising juniors, seniors and rising college freshmen who have strong communication, technology, and problem-solving skills and want to learn about exciting career opportunities in accounting. Only students who are residents of Georgia or who attend high school in the state of Georgia are eligible to apply.

WHY?

Learn more about the accounting profession and life as a college student.  Students get hands on experience through accounting case studentes and computer classes.  The program introduces students to college life by hosting them in the dorms, attending classes, and eating in the dining halls.
