WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS

Tips and Tricks for Taking the CPA Exam
Come and learn the latest and greatest information on taking the CPA exam.  From test structure and timing, to studying tips and tricks, you will learn it all from Becker’s own Steve Claghorn.

Things I Wish I Knew When I Started
A panel of recent graduates will discuss the transition between college and career. Students will have the opportunity to pick the brains of recent graduates on what to expect in the first year or two of their careers.

So Many Choices…Which Way Do I Go?
Many students struggle with the decision about whether to enter public accounting, public service or private industry. A panel of experienced professionals who have each followed a distinct career path will share their experiences with students.  This discussion is for students wondering, "Can a CPA can be useful in the FBI?" or "how do I become the CFO  of a multi-national corporation?"

Show Me The Money! – Job Market and Salary Data
For those students wondering whether busy seasons are really worth the effort, a frank discussion with an accounting and finance placement expert on the current job market and the type of salaries that can be expected based on individual career choices.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE GSCPA COLLEGE2CAREER CONFERENCE:

College students working towards degrees in accounting or finance, or recent graduates with accounting or finance degrees who are seeking full-time, part-time or internship positions. This Conference provides the best of both worlds for students, access to employers in a wide range of industries, including public accounting, consulting, financial services, distribution, and manufacturing, through the career fair, and workshops to provide students with valuable information on career path options, CPA exam preparation, salary and employment data and employer expectations.
